Nigel John KEENAN, 43 year-old male, entrepreneur is the subject of a Confiscation Order.

 

Whilst standing trial at Leeds Crown Court for the illegal importation and supply of Kamagra (similar properties as Viagra), it was discovered that he was still involved in the importation and sale of controlled drugs. A fresh prosecution was brought in respect of these further offences and KEENAN pleaded guilty. On 2nd March 2005 KEENAN appeared at Leeds Crown Court and was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment for the original offences and a further 6 months for the new offences.

On
25th April 2006, after a financial investigation by DS Clements and forensic accountant Adeline Shelley, a confiscation hearing under the Criminal Justice Act 1988 was held at Leeds Crown Court. HHJ McCallum determined that his criminal benefit was £1,250,000.00. KEENAN's assets were assesed as £250,000. This consisted of equity in two properties, a Audi motor vehicle, money in bank accounts and shares. A Confiscation Order  was made for £250,000.  He was given 6 months to pay £150,000 and 12 months to pay the balance of £100,000.   This followed a previous order in respect to the first offence when the court made a confiscation order in the sum of £140,000
