Street Dealer is ordered to pay in excess of £35,000
On Monday 22nd May 2006 a sentencing and confiscation hearing was held at Leeds Crown Court in relation to a case of Possession of Controlled Drugs With Intent to Supply them to another.
In April 2004 officers of the West Yorkshire Police arrested the defendant in the car park of the Old Hall Public House, Heckmondwike after he was found in possession of cocaine, ecstacy, amphetamine, ‘skunk’ cannabis and a limited amount of cash.
After investigation the defendant was charged and in, February 2005, pleaded guilty to the offence.
At sentencing in May 2006, the defendant was sent to jail 12 months suspended for 2 years. On the same day the defendant was found to have benefited from his general criminal conduct by £135,993.13 and was ordered to pay a confiscation order of £36,066.30 within six months. A default sentence of 18 months imprisonment was set.
At the conclusion of the proceedings His Honour Judge Ashurst thanked the prosecution for the financial information provided to the court.
