Operation Click
As a result of a referral to the NE RART made by South Shields Trading Standards a confiscation order was made in the sum of £110,000 was made on 17 July 2008 at Newcastle Crown Court.
The defendant, Alan Routledge, sold fake motor bike leathers through his internet company Click2Buy which is based in Jarrow, South Tyneside. Trading Standards officers launched an investigation following the discovery of the fake garments advertised on Ebay and found 464 suits on Routledge’s business premises when they were searched in December 2006.
