Sheffield Crown Court ruled that David Costin had benefitted to the tune of £980,859.31 from the proceeds of the frauds and a confiscation order was made for £126,206.65 which represents the total value of Costin’s assets available to be confiscated. If he fails to pay up within two years, Costin will have to serve a further three years in prison. This does not wipe out the debt and he will still be faced with paying the money. ......

News - Byard £250,000 Confiscation - 18 May 2010
Farmer, Robert Byard, was made the subject of a £250,000 confiscation order at Derby Crown Court on 21 April 2010. If he does not pay the sum within six months he faces a default prison sentence of two years and nine months and will still have to satisfy the order including any interest. This is the largest confiscation order secured by the Environment Agency’s Yorkshire and North East region. ......

Paul and Julie Cruttenden pleaded guilty to various fraud offences on 24th June 2009 at Durham Crown Court. Their crimes included fraudulently obtaining benefit payments, attempting to convert criminal property, obtaining services and money transfers by deception. The couple used the proceeds of their crimes to live a lavish lifestyle which included living in a substantial dwelling, interests in properties overseas and driving expensive cars with personalised registration numbers. ......
