Cannabis worth more than £500,000 has been seized in a raid in Bridgend, South Wales. Police raided a drugs factory at an
industrial unit on the Brynmenyn Industrial Estate, Bridgend, and recovered a large quantity of cannabis resin hidden there.
The search was as a result of an ongoing Money Laundering investigation being carried out by officers from the Regional Asset Recovery Team (Wales) and South Wales Police. They arrested two men, aged 19 and 44, from Bridgend, on suspicion of offences relating to the supply of cannabis and money laundering. They are on bail pending further enquiries.
Superintendent Tim Jones, divisional commander for Bridgend, said: “This is a significant find which I am in no doubt
will have an impact on the distribution of illegal drugs.
“Our aim is to continue to make Bridgend an uncomfortable place for drug dealers and hopefully this recent significant seizure will send a clear message to anyone thinking of dealing
drugs, storing drugs or cultivating drugs here that they will be targeted.
“It is vitally important that the community carries on reporting suspicious behaviour to us. The public are the
police’s eyes and ears, and an invaluable ally in the fight against drug related crime.”
