Money Launderer from Birmingham ordered to pay back over £450,000

Barrington Fulcott, a 48 year old man from Kingstanding, was ordered to pay £450,386 at the hearing in Birmingham Crown Court.

He has six months to pay back the money, or he will serve an extra four years in prison.

Fulcott was originally sentenced to 42 months in prison in February 2008 in relation to three counts of money laundering.

He had accumulated considerable wealth from his criminal activity which had allowed him to purchase five properties in the West Midlands and begin the development of a substantial residence in St Annes, Jamaica.

On arrest Mr Fulcott was also found to be in possession of a watch valued at £21,000.

Detective Inspector Chris Berrow from the West Midlands Regional Asset Recovery Team said: "This man was trying to live the high life from his criminal lifestyle. Not only have we stopped him with a jail sentence, but now we have taken the profit from him as well.

“We are determined to remove the assets accrued by those who benefit from crime but contribute nothing. These criminals are well known in the communities they live and I urge those with information relating to them to get in touch.
